Corel or Adobe? 2 Years, 1 Month ago Karma: 0
I have been doing just embroidery until now. I've now started doing vinyl too and want to know which software would be better to invest in?

Although looking at this forum, I can see that there are a lot of other software packages to choose from. Any advice please?

You will probably get different opinions on this but i think it depends on what you want to learn and what you already know. I use CorelDraw most of the time but I also have Adobe Illustrator that comes in handy on some projects.  I also use Inkscape and Photoshop quite often.  It is always nice to have all the tools that you can get because you never know what the graphics world will throw at you.

If you have a limited budget, I would give Inkscape a go. It is Open Source, so available free.

Just because InkScape is free doesn't mean it is rubbish. There is a lot of good free Open Source software available, Mozilla FireFox is the most well know one - A safer alternative to Internet Explorer:

I agree, before you spend a lot of money, download inkscape. It might do what you want, and it's free. I have Corel and Adobe AI and I have rarely used either since I got Inkscape.
There are also a bunch of good open-source programs out there that are basically clones of Corel and AI,also free.

Hi, I've always used Adobe, Photoshop and Illustrator, only because thats what i learned at college etc... But its a massive investment and a waste of money if you're not gonna use it an awful lot. Like the others say. Try Inkscape. If it does the job then you save yourself a lot of money.
